AlaMaududi. (4:18) But of no avail is repentance of those who do evil until death approaches any one of them and then he says: 'Now I repent.'. Nor is the repentance of those who die in the state of unbelief of any avail to them. For them We have kept in readiness a painful chastisement.

Be mindful of your Lord Who created you from a single soul, and from it He created its mate, 1 and through both He spread countless men and women. And be mindful of Allah—in Whose Name you appeal to one another—and ˹honour˺ family ties.} Menare in charge of women by [right of] what Allah has given one over the other and what they spend [for maintenance] from their wealth. So righteous women are devoutly obedient, guarding in [the husband's] absence what Allah would have them guard.
